2016 Draft Conservation Strategy Available

Posted 2016-11-30

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has prepared the 2016 draft Central Valley Flood Protection Plan Conservation Strategy (Conservation Strategy). The Conservation Strategy is a primary component of the 2017 Update to the Central Valley Flood Protection Plan (CVFPP). It outlines a comprehensive, long-term approach to improve riverine and floodplain ecosystems, and provides guidance on how multi-benefit projects can provide ecological benefits while protecting public safety.

The 2016 draft Conservation Strategy and appendices are now available on DWR's website at: www.water.ca.gov/conservationstrategy/cs_new.cfm.

A document describing the process for developing the Conservation Strategy is also available on the website. We want to thank our partners, stakeholders and the public for all of the feedback we have received in the last couple of years. We look forward to continuing our work with you as we develop the 2022 CVFPP update and next version of the Conservation Strategy.

Best regards,

Stacy Cepello California
