The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has prepared a Draft Central Valley Flood System Conservation Strategy (Conservation Strategy) for a 60-day public review and comment period. The Conservation Strategy is an integral component of the 2017 Central Valley Flood Protection Plan (CVFPP). It outlines a comprehensive, long-term approach to improve riverine and floodplain ecosystems, and provides guidance on how multi-benefit projects can provide ecological benefits while protecting public safety.
The draft document, executive summary and all appendices are now available on DWR’s website at: www.water.ca.gov/conservationstrategy/cs_new.cfm. A review guidance document is also available on the website; we strongly recommend that you refer to this document before beginning your review of the Conservation Strategy. Please submit comments by September 14, 2015.
