Location Description
This site is located at River Mile 164-L, approximately 5 miles south of Butte City and the intersection of Highways 162 and 45.
Site Description
This 224 acre unit, located in Glenn County, is owned by USFWS. The property consists of 24 acres of existing riparian habitat and 200 acres of dryland crops.
Vegetation Wildlife
The riparian habitat is made up of mixed riparian forest. Special vegetation profiles include blue elderberry planted as a Valley elderberry longhorn beetle mitigation site and Drumheller slough giant garter snake mitigation site.
Current Land Use
Row-cropping will be continued in order to eliminate and control weeds until funding becomes available for restoration. It is anticiipated to open to the public in 2008/2009.
