Location Description
This site is located at River Mile 168-R, just south of Butte City and Highway 162.
Site Description
This 404 acre unit, located in Glenn County, is owned by USFWS. The property consists of 176 acres of restored riparian habitat, 23 acres of fallow land, and 205 acres of existing riparian habitat.
Vegetation Wildlife
The riparian habitat consists mostly of cottonwood and mixed riparian forests, open water (Packer Lake), freshwater marsh, and some gravel bar and riparian scrub. Special vegetation profiles include Valley oak regeneration on the southwest side of Packer Lake. Special wildlife use includes black-crowned night heron roosts and wood ducks on Packer Lake.

Access Description
There are two access points to this unit that are located along highway 45. Ther northern access poin leads to the boat launch and dirt parking area. The southern access point leads to an information kiosk, gravel parking area and trailhead.
