Location Description
This site is located at River Mile 232-R, approximately 12 miles south of Red Bluff.
Site Description
This 630 acre unit, located in Tehama County, is owned by USFWS. The property consists entirely of riparian habitat, of which 401 acres are restored and 229 are pre-existing.
Vegetation Wildlife
The pre-existing riparian habitat consists mostly of cottonwood and mixed riparian forests, riparian scrub, and gravel bar. Special vegetation profiles include a mid-terrace mixed riparian forest. Special wildlife use includes breeding lazuli bunting, common yellowthroat, heron/egret rookery, Western yellow-billed cuckoo, California quail, and the largest bank swallow colony on the Sacramento River.
