From Interstate 5 take the Sims exit. Turn right at the stop westbound. Turn left at the intersection and drive south for about 2.5 miles. There is a gravel lot near the bridge that crosses Shotgun Creek that is available for parking.

Trail leads to numerous river access points where there are swimming pools, fishing and historical chromite mines.

From the parking lot hike around the fenced in electrical transformers and look for signs leading to a trail. There will be a small trail that will open up to a large roadbed.
