Twenty-seven miles south of Dunsmuir, Thirty-five miles north of Redding and less than 5 miles north of the towns of Lakeshore and Antlers off of Interstate 5.
Site Description
The site has a large swimming hole with a sandy beach, rock formations near the river and a cliff wall. The water runs slow so it could be a good place for children. Since it is a popular swimming hole the area could be crowded during the weekend. The area is private land but the site is a known river access spot and is sponsored by the Dunsmuir Chamber of Commerce.

Vegetation Wildlife
Canyon live oak, willow shrubs, large grasses, riparian vegetation. Rainbow trout are the predominant species of fish but there are some brown trout as well.
Access Description
Southbound: From Interstate 5 take the Vollmers / Dog Creek exit. Go under freeway turn left and an immediate right. Drive down hill about 3/4 mile. Park when in view of tracks. Walk over tracks straight toward river and down trail. Northbound: Take the Vollmers / Dog Creek exit. take a right and follow southbound directions.
