Location Description
Todd Island is located at River Mile 238 - R
Site Description
Todd Island is owned and managed by the BLM. This property is expected to be transferred to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service following the completion of the Comprehensive Conservation Plan. Public access is expected to be a condition of the transfer.
Topology Hydrology
During most years, Todd Island is submerged in winter and spring.
Vegetation Wildlife
This island is characterized by dense mixed riparian forest, making access beyond it's gravel banks extremely difficult.
Current Land Use
Fisherman occasionally use this island to fish from the gravel bars.
Adjacent Land Use
Todd Island is completely bordered to the west by the La Barranaca Unit of the USFWS Sacramento River National Wildlife Refuge. The properties across the river from the island are in agricultural production.
Access Description
Land access is cut off by sloughs. No public road access. Accessible only by boat.
