Site Description
This 18,000 acre wildlife conservation area, owned by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, was established in 1980 to protect wetlands for wintering fowl. Much of the land consists of conservation easements, which require landowners to mainain the wetlands on their property. The actual refuge consists of 733 acres.

This area has a flat landscape and is bordered by the Sierra Nevada and coast ranges.
Vegetation Wildlife
Provides a resting habitat for many endagered, threatened or sensitive species. Supports a large population of both ducks and geese. The area preserves a natural diversity and abundance of flora and fauna.
